July 31, 1959 – October 1st, 2025 Bob was born in Rockledge, Florida on July 31st, 1959. He left this earthly world on October 1st, 2025. He loved to fish, go boating, hang out at the beach or most of all hang out with a beer and reminisce of the good times and what he could bring himself to share of war stories. He told his good friend Ralph Lee Oldham from high school that if he died before him to be sure to tell everyone that "We lived in the best of times!".
He went to Satellite High School in 11th grade and is still recognized as a Satellite Scorpion. He actually graduated from Rutland High School, Vermont in 1977. He had a heart for the military and joined the Army. He served as Unit Supply Specialist, Security Officer/Force Protection, Prep Cook, and more. He was a proud Black Hawk Mechanic and "Combat Lifesaver" while serving in Afghanistan. He loved the kids there and said "We were winning the hearts and their minds and we walked away". One of his battles was with the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force. He had many medals and was proud to wear a Blood Patch medal on his uniform. He called it his battle patch. What he saw and participated in would haunt him. He was very proud of his Papaw who was the Personal Security Officer for the Astronaut John Glenn and his crew chief. He says he had a loaded 357 Mag he carried not in a holster but in his pocket at all times. Bob was proud to show off the picture to confirm this. He is preceded in death by his parents; Robert E and Rosemary Finley, and his sister Peggy Pinner Finley both in 2022. Bob leaves behind to grieve his brother John Edward Finley and his wife Ann Finley from Fair Haven, Vermont. His nephews, Sean Michael Finley and Christopher Ryan Finley.. Also, Niece Morgan Uhl. Also left to grieve are his Service buddies and a host of friends he met along the way in his worldly travels. Bob Finley you will be missed by us all. Many stories and I Love you's left unsaid. May you Rest in Peace in the heavenly realm.
Bob once said "If we be for God who could be against us?"
