Robert Lee Flagel

Robert L. Flagel, 81, formerly from Davenport, Iowa passed away on December 4, 2024 at his home with his family by his side. A memorial service will be held on January 11, 2025 at 2:00 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Woodburn, Oregon. Contact Jesse for Zoom information at robertflagelmemorial@gmail.com.
Bob was born in Maquoketa, Iowa to Robert & Dorothy (Arterberry) Flagel. He graduated from Maquoketa High School. He enlisted in the Army shortly after graduation. He retired from the US Army with many awards and decorations. He served 2 tours in Vietnam. After retiring from the military, he worked in the state unemployment office working with veterans and retired from the State of Iowa.
Bob was well loved for his friendly and welcoming spirit. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses he loved to talk to people about the Bible. His favorite scripture was Revelation 21:4. He loved to spend time with family and friends. Hobbies he enjoyed were gardening, photography, making his own greeting cards, visiting caves, zoos and waterfalls.
Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife Ralene Flagel. He is also survived by his children Lynda Gustavus (Lee) Bryan, Texas, Shaun Flagel, Iowa City, Iowa and Robin Nelson (Bruce) Eldridge, Iowa and his stepchildren Ricky Baker, Foreman, Arkansas, Ross Baker (Becky) Woodburn, Oregon, Rochelle Knighton (Kelly) Texarkana, Texas. He is also survived by Lana Flagel, the mother of his children. In addition, he is survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren with one great grandson on the way and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brother, Larry Flagel, and his great granddaughter, Cheyenne Madison
