Robert D. "Rob" Flanders

Robert "Rob" D. Flanders passed unexpectedly July 15, 2023, at the age of 61. Rob was born in McGregor, Iowa, and raised in Cedar Rapids. Graduate of John F. Kennedy High (class of 1979), Kirkwood Community College, Mount Mercy University, and University of Iowa (master's December 1996). Over the years, Rob worked with Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids, in Tampa, Fla., and with GE Healthcare as a software engineer from 2005, until his retirement in March 2023. Rob is survived by his beloved wife, Vicki (nee Mohorich); loyal "fur-baby" Ginger; sisters, Cindy (Pat) and Dion (Laz); nieces, Katie (Mike) and Alissa (Jon); nephew, Zachary (Shannon); great-niece, Hazel Mae; great-nephew and niece, Remy and Mia; and loving nephew of Blanche Froiseth (the late Arvid), Donna Britain (Roger) and Arla Powers (Ray). Additionally, Rob is survived by numerous Iowa and Wisconsin cousins; god-daughter, Renee Franz; and other beloved family including Gerri Franz, Julie Flanders, Jenny Jo Pritchett and Karen (Rick Gander). Rob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Joyce; grandparents, Hazel and Lyle; and uncle, William. Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Saturday, July 29, at Holy Apostles Church, New Berlin, Wis. Mass of Christian Burial to begin at noon.
