Robert Lee Furr, 91, of Concord, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Robert was born December 1, 1931 in Stanly County, North Carolina, to the late Charlie L. Furr and the late Julia Furr.
He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruby Smith Furr, of over 65 years, sisters Pauline Almond and Elma Eudy, and brother David Furr.
Robert truly loved helping people and showing them how much they were cared for. He loved working outdoors, especially on his tractor. Two of his biggest passions were farming and woodworking. Robert could tear apart and rebuild anything put in front of him, including motors and tractors.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be on Monday at 2:00 pm at Coldwater Baptist Church, located at 1045 Union Street South, Concord, NC 28025, and will be officiated by Pastor Wade Abercrombie and Pastor Gary Morris. Burial will immediately follow at the Cabarrus Memorial Gardens, located at 3892 Hwy 73, Concord, NC.
Survivors include his sister, Ruth Green, of Locust, NC, friends, and various nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers for the service are Bobby Bensley, Ron Bennick, Tim Satterfield, Todd Green, Chris Toole and Eli Toole. Honorary Pallbearers are Greyson Bensley, Dennis Smith and Brandon Green.
A special thanks to friends and caregivers, Home Instead, Rowena, Rosemary Jones, Mary Smith, and all others that helped take care of and comfort Robert in his last few months.

We feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to care for Mr. Furr. He was a caring individual who loved his family and country. We will sadly miss him.
