Robert "Bob" Ganfield, 86, died Wednesday April 9, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.
Robert Roy Ganfield was born February 26, 1939, at the John McDonald Hospital, Monticello, Iowa the son of Ralph and F. Birdena Hawkins Ganfield. Bob graduated from the Monticello Community Schools in 1956. He started farming with his parents in Whitewater Township in Dubuque County. Robert married Mary Ann Nix on October 3, 1964, at the Methodist Church, Lancaster, Wisconsin. In 1966 they moved to a farm in Cascade Township in Dubuque County and in 1973 they purchased an additional farm across the road.
Bob's joys of life: being blessed with a great wife and two daughters, 5 loving grandkids, being a lifelong farmer, being raised to the degree of Master Mason in May of 1963 and being part of the Cascade, Farley and Monticello lodges, organizing an ecumenical Bible School for 9 years-sharing God's love with the kids of the community, serving on many Presbytery committees and community boards and lastly, planting and harvesting crops with great neighbors for over 35 years.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann, 2 daughters, Barb Cunninghan and Betty (Jared) Tilleraas, 5 Grandchildren John (Madison), Bret (Jack), Brad (Peyton), Kassie and Jamison, and his siblings, Mary Rose, Edgar Ganfield, and Ann (Warren) Schaapveld. He was preceded by his parents, a brother-in-law Paul, and a son-in-law Bronson.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 Saturday morning, April 19, 2025 at the Community Presbyterian Church where the family will receive friends after 9:00 AM. Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello has taken Bob and his family into their care. The family request no flowers, memorials will be divided amongst Bob's chosen charities.

Bob was a wonderful person...so enjoyed being in lodge with him in Monticello, Anamosa and DBQ. Just a super gentleman. I cherished our friendship...and it will be sad not seeing him in lodge...
