Robert Goodman

Robert "Bobby" Goodman, 72, passed away peacefully in his home on September 14, 2025, in Hanover, Massachusetts. Born on November 14, 1952, in Boston, Massachusetts, Bobby lived a life marked by dedication to his family and work.

Bobby started working on cars at a young age with his father and brother. He then became the proud owner of a successful car dealership-a career that allowed him to do what he loved every day. His deep knowledge and natural ability to connect with people made him not only a respected businessman but also a trusted figure in the car community. Whether helping someone find their first car or restoring a vintage classic in his spare time, Bobby brought enthusiasm and care to everything he did.

Outside of work, Bobby found joy in simple pleasures: working on vintage cars, watching old movies, and spending cherished moments with his beloved family over Chinese food and a Mai Tai. He was known for his wisdom and generosity-always willing to lend a hand or offer guidance. Those who knew him often described him as hardworking and giving, someone who got along with everyone and served as a father figure to many. His laugh was loud and contagious, always brightening the mood of the room.

Bobby's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Joanne McCauley-Goodman; his daughter and son-in-law, Paige and Brian Powers; his son, James McCauley; and his grandchildren, Ted and Betty McCauley. He also leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Sandra Goodman; along with many other family members who loved him deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernice and Joseph Goodman.

A funeral service honoring Bobby's life will be held graveside at Hanover Center Cemetery on Thursday, September 18th at 11AM.

Bobby's legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched-as a loving husband and father, a wise mentor, a loyal friend, and a pillar of strength within both his community. He will be missed deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
