Robert Lyle Gosso

Robert (Bob) Lyle Gosso, 79, of Stillwater, passed away on February 7, 2026 at The Pillar Hospice Home surrounded by his family. He was born on March 31, 1946 in Stillwater, MN to Lyle and LaVerne (Bursch) Gosso. Bob was very compassionate and a care giver to many. He always made time for people who might need some company. He had many friends, and although he was somewhat quiet, had a way of striking up conversations with anyone. He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife Sandy of 49 years, and he cared deeply for her. She passed in 2014.

Bob was an extraordinary Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Son, and Brother, but also a remarkable friend to many. He loved attending his grandchildren's sports events – generally bringing his very old lawn chair, a playmate cooler with a couple cans of non-alcoholic beer, and his sunflower seeds. He was a member of the Bayport Legion where he had many friends and could often be found sitting at the end of the bar talking politics and investments with his brother Dick.

Bob was preceded in death by his beautiful wife Sandy; son Ryan; grandson Gage; mother and father Lyle & LaVerne; mother-in-law and father-in-law Kay and Gordon Handevidt; brother-in-law Dan Handevidt and daughter-in-law Anita Gosso. He is survived by his son Rande (Allison) Gosso; grandchildren, Tyler (Courtney) Gosso, Peyton Gosso, Lauryn (Mitchell) Heller, Cooper Gosso and Crosby Gosso; Riane Johnson, great granddaughter River Stafki; siblings Dick Gosso & Ron (Penny) Gosso; also many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Memorial Service, in Trinity Lutheran Church, 115 4th Street North, Stillwater, MN. Private family interment in Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Stillwater, MN.
