Bob Grant was a dear friend, and one my family and I will most certainly miss. We met in the Summer of 1974, when my wife and I moved into our house directly across the street from the one he shared with is wife Lorraine and daughter Lara. As Bob and Lorraine came over to welcome us to the neighborhood, Bob bellowed out, "Welcome to the "burbs" neighbor, do you play games?", (referring to Board Games, as neither family had money to do much more than that at the time). Our families became great friends. We played board games 'til the wee hours (even at Grant Funeral Home), went water-skiing in the Summer, trade cookout dates, covered a living room wall of 6"x6" cork board framed mirrors, had Holiday dinners together, and I clearly remember helping Bob erect a steel swing-set for his daughter, in the wind and rain, of a cold Christmas Eve. (Thanks for that one buddy!) Bob and I also shared the same wry sense of humor, which to say the least, could often be obnoxious, but that was fine, because we were friends.

We celebrated the birth of our son Tom, grieved at the passing of Bob's first wife Lorraine, and again for his second wife Galya, several years thereafter, and some time in during all this, the house across the street was sold, and our family had moved.

Times change, lives go in different directions, and Bob and I eventually drifted apart, with just occasional phone calls and emails.

I was pleased to have seen and had lunch with Bob sometime around June of this year, but had no idea it would be for the very last time.

Good-bye my friend. We should have taken time for dessert.

Bob was a tremendous supporter of Seminole High School over the years. He was was always instrumental in helping the academic and athletic programs at SHS. From heading up the football game chain gangs to providing sound system in the gymnasium to buying a portable concession for the softball team just to name a few. Plus sponsoring the Kiwanis Students of the Month. I was proud to see that Bob & the Seminole Kiwanis Club was inducted into the SHS Athletic Hall of Fame a few years ago. My condolences to Bob´s family. RIP my friend.

Bob was a fellow Kiwanian. He always called me "Miller". We have known each other a long time.
I was shocked when I got the call that he had passed.
Rest well my friend. Tell Billy hello for me.
Love you, Sarah

I knew Bob through the Seminole Kimanis Club. He was a funny guy and enjoyed the club and life in general.
