Robert L. Graves Sr.
Age 76, passed away Friday February 17, 2023 at Silver Cross Hospital.
Survived by His wife Cynthia (Kapella) Graves; three daughters Edie (Joe) Reyna, Becky (Carol) Graves and Patricia (Ray) Harris; one son Bobby (Vicky) Graves Jr.; grandchildren Michael, Eddie, Alyssa, Veronica, Steven, Stephanie, Dakota, Ciera, and Bailey; numerous great grandchildren; siblings Judith Curry, Richard (Tammy) Graves, Bonnie Wilm, Charles (Debbie) Graves, Tammie (Wally) Mistakevich, Sherry (Tom) Bippus, Terry Graves, Beverly (Billy) Mistakevich and Roseann (Darryl) Powell. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents Oliver and Caroline (Drout) Graves; Siblings Shirley Norwood, Linda Graves, Carol Smith, Carl Graves, Gloria Spencer, Ruth Conley and Larry Graves; brothers-in-law Joe Curry and Sonny Wilm.
Born in Joliet a lifelong resident. Retired from the Lennon Wallpaper Co. and Joliet Township High School, Central Campus. Bob enjoyed fishing, camping, and was a card shark and racing fan. Liked to work on cars especially vintage cars. He loved spending time with family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home. As per Robert's wishes cremation rites will follow. Visitation Thursday 12:30p.m. until time of services.

We are so sorry to hear about the loss of Bob! He and dad gave me my first nickname...George! Dad crossed over into eternity July 10, 2022. I'm sure he was there welcoming his friend!

Pleas accept my empathy for the passing of Robert, Bob, Graves. I knew most of the Oliver and Carolyn Graves family on Blackhawk st; Eastside Joliet. Cayuga st was just a couple of block west of there and all Ridgewood kids would play at this intersection @ 1957 ish . 15 kids or so was a lot , but the parents were great. I believe there was a set of twins. I knew Joe Curry before her married Judy . Good looking kids . God bless Robert and his family. Rip from Kathi Furdeck-Fitzgerald , And from the Campbell kids say hello.
