Robert John "Bob" Guth

Robert John Guth passed away peacefully on December 31, 2022. He was 75 years old. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Carolyn Guth (nee Prokopik); cherished daughter, Jacqueline Paven (Bill); grandchildren, Lauren Paven, Nicholas Guth, and Ryan Guth (Ali); great-grandson, Kieran Guth; and siblings, Dolores Kilptrick, Edward Guth (Sue), and Particia McKale. Bob is preceded in death by his beloved son, Rodney Guth, his brother, Elwood Guth; and his parents, Anthony and Anna May Guth.
Bob had a long and distinguished 25-year career as a Philadelphia Firefighter. Bob retired in 1993 and moved to the Pocono Mountains in Bear Creek Lakes where he resided with his wife Carolyn for 19 years. Bob and Carolyn traded a life of Snowbirds for Shorebirds when they moved to the Lewes Delaware area in 2012 to enjoy the ocean and plenty of sunshine. Bob was a member of Saint Jude's Church in Lewes. He was an active member in his community of Windstone where he served as a previous HOA board member. Bob never missed the opportunity to help his fellow friends and neighbors. He will be greatly missed for his kind and fun-loving spirit by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the ASPCA to help rescued, abused and neglected animals. Bob was an amazing husband, Dad, and Grandpa. He adored his family!
Relatives and friends are invited to Bob's Life Celebration on Friday, January 6, 2023, from 10:00AM to 11:45AM at John F. Givnish Funeral Home, 10975 Academy Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154. A funeral mass will begin at 11:45AM at the funeral home.
