OBITUARY
Robert Lynn Hammonds of Sullivan, MO departed this life at his home, surrounded by the love of his family, on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, having reached the age of seventy-one years, ten months and one day. Robert was born in Camp Chaffee, AR on February, 22, 1954, son of J. L. Hammonds and Norma Jean Hammonds nee Wingo. On June 8, 1998 he was united in marriage to Karen Lynn Kramme and their families were joined as one.
Robert is survived by his wife, Karen Hammonds of Sullivan, MO; by his daughter, Dana Hammonds and significant other, Joel Brown, of Bend, OR; by his step-children, Audrey Flamion and husband, Don, of Lonedell, MO and Becky Myers and husband, Tim, of Farmington, MO; by one brother, David Hammonds of Grady, AR; by one sister, Debbie Hammonds of Bethalto, IL; by his grandchildren, Corinne Welty and husband, Jacob, of Farmington, MO and Wyatt Myers of Farmington, MO; by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, J. L. and Norma Hammonds; by one brother, Ricky Hammonds; and by one sister, Pam Hammonds.
Robert was a Christian and believed in the Lord as his Savior. During his working career he drove for Cassens Transport for almost thirty years, hauling cars for Daimler-Chrysler Corporation before their move from Fenton, MO. Robert was proud to have served his country in the United States Marine Corps, receiving his honorable discharge on January 16, 1976. He was a past member of the local VFW Post. Robert loved to drive trucks and cars, and in his younger years, motorcycles. He raised cattle and horses and enjoyed going boating and camping in their fifth wheel. Robert especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. The love and fellowship they enjoyed together will be cherished by them all forever.
A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, step-father, grandfather, brother, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Pastor Scott Stroup officiating. Interment with full military honors will be in Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
