Robert Railey Hand Jr., 72 of Halifax, North Carolina, passed away on Monday January 12, 2026. Robert was born on May 5, 1953, in Newport News Virginia. He was preceded in death by parents Robert and Vivian Hand, his sister Brenda Anne Mercure.
He is survived by his wife Amy, sons Justin Robert Hand (Hannah Dunlow), Victor Kane (Jessica), daughter Lesile Blair Morris (Mason), brothers David Hand (Nancy), Eddie Harwell (Connie), sisters Beverly Tweed, Rhonda Kay Waters, grandchildren Jacob Hand, Ella Hand, Adalynn Hand, River Ann Kane, Hannah Kane, Joshua Kane, Kaden Morris and Kenley Morris.
Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather. He served his country in the United States Army. Robert was a “Jack of All Trades”, loved hunting, fishing and animals. He will always be known by his family as the “Last Living Cowboy”.
The family will receive friends and family on Saturday January 17, 2026, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Hockaday Funeral & Cremations.
