Robert William "Bob" Hand

Hand, Robert "Bob" William, age 88, of Hawthorne, on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
Born in Hawthorne, Bob was a lifelong resident. A graduate of Cooper Union, Bob worked as a Professional Civil Engineer for Port Authority in New York City. One of Bob's biggest accomplishments was building his own Schober organ. He was also a self-taught organ player.
Bob was the beloved husband of Avril (nee Day) Hand. Loving father of Kieran Hand and his wife Josie of CA, Lisa Hand of Maine, Gregory Hand of Hawthorne, Austin Hand and his wife Sarit of Fair Lawn, and Blake Hand and his significant other Gina Russo of Riverdale. Father-in-law of Joanne Hand. Grandfather of Tyler, Benjamin, Madison, Sadie, and Sydney. Dear uncle of Sarah and her family. Brother of the late Ted Hand and his wife Helen.
Friends may visit with the family at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne, on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, from 2:00 – 6:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hawthorne Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
