Robert Hanson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Camino Del Sol Funeral Chapel & Cremation Center on Feb. 3, 2026.
Robert L. Hanson, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, in Sun City West, Arizona.

Born on September 24, 1948, Robert built a life defined by devotion to his family, integrity in his work, and a steadfast willingness to help others. He was the beloved husband of Judi K. Hanson, with whom he shared many devoted years of marriage.

Robert dedicated 32 years of his career to Goodyear Tire Company, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and reliability. Following retirement, he and Judi relocated to Arizona, where Robert's skill and craftsmanship became well known. Exceptionally talented with his hands, he was often sought after for his ability to fix, build, and care for nearly anything. Friends and neighbors alike trusted his knowledge and appreciated the pride he took in every project.

Robert found genuine joy in staying busy, caring for his home, and helping others - never happier than when he was working on a project or lending a hand to someone in need.

Those who knew Robert will remember him as a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather - kind, thoughtful, dependable, and deeply loved. His quiet generosity and steady presence will be profoundly missed.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Ellen (Angel) Tolentino-Bazan; his son, Scott (Jennifer) Hanson; and granddaughter, Mikaela Hanson. He is also survived by his siblings: Al (Nan) Hanson, Karen Boldra, Marilyn Parks, Carolyn Birtell, Phyllis (Stan) Gardner, and Dick (Carolyn) Hanson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Katherine Hanson, and his beloved wife, Judi K. Hanson.

A graveside service will be held in Auburn, Kansas, in late spring or early summer of 2026. Service details will be announced at a later date.
