Robert Irving Harrell, a devoted husband, loving father, and proud U.S. Army Veteran, went to be with his Heavenly Father on July 11, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on October 27, 1949, in Gloucester, Mass. Robert lived a life filled with love for his family and a steadfast dedication to his country.
During Robert’s time serving in the U.S. Army, Robert became a dedicated member of the 75th Rangers. For over 14 years, he served with unwavering commitment in the U.S. Army, taking him far and wide, with honorable stations in South Korea and West Berlin, Germany. Robert’s service not only marked his dedication to his country but also reflected his deep sense of duty towards the safety and well-being of others.
After retiring from military service, Robert found joy in his work as a delivery driver for Pizza Hut, where he enjoyed serving his community. His loyalty to his family was matched only by his passion for the things he loved. He cherished drinking coffee, playing chess, and indulging in Spanish food, as well as enjoying the sounds of country music, which he often sang along to.
A true sports enthusiast, Robert took great pleasure in watching games, with the Houston Astros being his favorite team. He was especially proud of his daughter's talent in baking, affectionately referring to her as his "private baker" after she crafted delightful cakes that brought joy to their family gatherings.
Surviving Robert is his beloved wife of 20 years, Gilma Harrell Rueda, and their children, Yilmar Barroso and Joel Barroso. He is also survived by his brothers, David Harrell and Timothy Harrell, his sister Nancy Feener and her husband Brian, and his cherished grandchildren: Franco Scaglione, Joilyn Blanco, Sophia Barroso, and Ailyn Barroso. Also, by his side was his loyal pet and companion, Kyra. In addition to his immediate family, Robert leaves behind other loving relatives and a host of friends who will miss him dearly.
Robert joins his late parents, Irving Harrell and Marie Harrell, in eternal rest. His legacy of faith and service will continue to inspire all those who knew him.
