José Ascención Díaz Ceja, un miembro querido de su comunidad, falleció el 11 de febrero de 2026, a los 73 años. Nacido el 22 de mayo de 1952 en Santa Ana Tepetitian, Jalisco, México, José llevó una vida marcada por la dedicación, la risa y el servicio a los demás. Jose Ascencion Diaz Ceja, a beloved member of his community, passed away on February 11, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on May 22, 1952, in Santa Ana Tepetitian Jalisco, Mexico, Jose led a life marked by dedication, laughter, and service to others.
As a retired owner and operator of Ceja Masonry, he made significant contributions not only through his work but also by sharing his skills with those around him. A past member of Primera Inglesia Baptista of Pasadena, Texas, Jose was a faithful servant to the Lord and used his talents to benefit his church, where he was known for his generous spirit. His passion for music was evident; he loved listening to Vicente Fernandez and found joy in singing, as he was a valued member of the choir.
Jose's personality shone brightly, characterized by his humor and ability to make those around him laugh. He was a true jokester and prankster, filling the lives of family and friends with lightheartedness. His hobbies reflected his love for life, whether it was cheering for his favorite soccer team, Guadalajara Chivas, enjoying fishing, or tending to his garden, he found fulfillment in working with his hands, often remarking that he could fix anything.
Jose leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly. He is survived by his daughter, Nelly Aracely De La Rosa, and her husband Armando. Jose was a proud grandfather to his grandchildren, Nicole Gabriella Ceja - Aldape, Mariah Natalie Ceja - Aldape, Nicholas De La Rosa and his wife Karla, and Nadia Celest De La Rosa. His legacy will continue through his great-grandchildren, Valarie Grace Pemberton, Dominic Sabastian Garcia, and Arianna Naveah Guzman. Additionally, he is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members, and countless friends who were touched by his kindness and infectious smile. He is also survived by several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law who became more like his own siblings over the years.
