Robert "Warren" Harris, beloved husband, father, brother, son and friend peacefully passed from this earthly life on Sunday, March 24, 2024 surrounded by his family. Warren suffered a massive stroke in April 2022, which left him debilitated and destroyed the speech area of his brain. His death was an after effect of the stroke. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Warren was born in
Brigham City, Utah on April 7, 1958, to Robert Dale Harris and Shana Elizabeth Warren Harris. He grew up between Brigham City and Northern Colorado as the family moved for education and employment purposes until he was in his early teen years when they settled in
Loveland, Colorado. In July 1977, following Warren's graduation from high school, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Sicily, Catania, Italy mission where he spent 2 years serving and teaching the gospel to the people there. He learned to love the place, the language, and the people and learned to cook several Italian dishes. He would return to visit 4 times during his lifetime, sometimes acting as a tour guide to friends and family that went with him.
He had a special bond with his siblings. Each was dear to his heart and he did all he could to help each one grow and feel good about themselves. He enjoyed spending time with them and taught them how to play games, sports, and technology. He also had great respect for his mother. He was willing to help her with anything and loved spending time with her.
He graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and worked for a few companies before becoming a part-owner of Summit Medical Products, Inc. He enjoyed his work, was extremely dedicated to it, enjoyed his co-workers, and considered them to be good friends. He looked up to many of them.
On June 6, 1997, Warren married Michelle Arnoldus Harris and became an instant father to her 4 children (Heidi, Brian, Heather, and Brandon) and loved it. Stefanie Marie and Savannah Elizabeth joined them to complete their family in the following years. Warren played, worked, loved, helped, and nurtured his children and did everything he could for the benefit of his family. He was a dedicated, kind, compassionate father and husband. He coached soccer for Stefanie and Savannah's team for years and attended all sports games possible to watch his children and to cheer them on. He supported them in wholesome activities and helped with, what felt like, endless homework. Michelle was the love of his life and brought him eternal joy and happiness.
Gardening was one of his favorite pass times. During the spring, summer, and fall, he could be found in his garden tending to his plants or his blackberries. He found joy in growing things and even more joy in sharing the products of his hard work. He was known for giving vegetables to his ministering families, his friends, and his extended family members. Warren loved blackberries. During the winter months you could find him planning his garden for next year.
He is survived by his wife Michelle, children Heidi Michelle Nelson, Brian Douglas Nelson (Candice Gillett), Heather Alta Nelson Schaugaard (Brian), Brandon Lawrence Nelson, Stefanie Marie Berg (Landon), Savannah Elizabeth Love (Taz), Shana Harris (mother), siblings Christy Harris Boyne (Art), Victor Harris (Heidi), Kassie Harris Jarvis (Gary), Blair Harris (Sunhee), and Byron Harris (Trish).
Warren was a quiet, giant of a person. Though Warren may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind. His legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering devotion will continue to inspire us all in the days and years to come. He will be dearly missed.
