Robert J. Harris

Bob James Harris, 79, passed away on February 9, 2026, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on August 25, 1946, in Lake Arthur, Louisiana.

Bob proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. After his military service, he built a long and dedicated career with CP&L, where he worked faithfully until his retirement.

A man of deep and unwavering faith, Bob devoted much of his life to studying the Word of God. He read his Bible daily and found strength and guidance in his favorite verse, Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me." His faith led him to serve in Write Way Prison Ministries, where he shared encouragement and hope with others. He was also a former member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA), blending his love of fellowship and ministry with his passion for riding.

Bob had a lifelong love for motorcycles, especially his Harley-Davidson. He cherished his weekly visits to the Harley-Davidson shop and the camaraderie that came with it. When he wasn't riding, he enjoyed watching western and action movies and spending time reading.

He is survived by his wife, Hannah Harris; his children, Lashawn Harris and Jeremy Harris; and his brother, Dempsey Harris Jr.; and his sister, Claudine Glenn.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dempsey Harris Sr.; his mother, Bessie Mae Harris; his brother, Douglas Harris; and his sister, Hazel Dickson.

A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on March 2, 2026, at Corpus Christi Christian Fellowship. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Coastal Bend Veterans Cemetery.

Bob will be remembered as a man of faith, strength, and quiet dedication - to the Lord, family, and country. His legacy of perseverance and belief will live on in all who knew and loved him.
