Robert G. Harrison, a man known for his kindness and generosity, left this world on March 24, 2026, at the venerable age of 97. Born on February 15, 1929, in
Cleveland, OH, Robert's life was a testament to the enduring power of selflessness and care. He passed away peacefully at Altenheim Senior Living, leaving behind a legacy of love and service that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Robert's journey began as the beloved son of the late Frank and Lillian (Heil) Harrison, and he grew up alongside his sisters, Lillian Carpenter and Shirley Mitchart, who preceded him in death. His early years laid a strong foundation for a life marked by dedication and hard work. After receiving his bachelor's degree from Case Western Reserve, Robert embarked on a distinguished career in the steel industry, where his tenacity and vision saw him rise to the position of Vice President of Marketing.
His professional achievements were matched by his commitment to his country, as he proudly served as an army veteran. Robert's patriotism and discipline were hallmarks of his character, qualities that he carried into every aspect of his life.
Robert's heart was truly at home, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his devoted children, Eric Harrison, Kathy (Joe) Pyrz, and Robert (Nilda) Harrison; his cherished grandchildren, Jessica Poehler, Matthew Pyrz, Robert Harrison, and Sophia Pyrz; and his adored great-grandchildren, Crew, Robert, Charlotte, Brooks, Ashton, and Graham. Each of them were touched by Robert's unwavering support and love, and they will carry forward the values he instilled in them.
Those who knew Robert will remember him as the epitome of kindness-a man whose generosity knew no bounds. He was the kind of person who always made sure everyone was taken care of, often putting the needs of others before his own. His skills in the kitchen were legendary, and his homegrown tomatoes were a source of pride and joy. Robert's culinary talents were matched by his ability to fix cars and tackle any project around the house, further evidence of his resourceful and self-reliant spirit. His passion for golf was also something folks will remember him by, often golfing at least four days a week.
Beyond his practical skills, Robert had a passion for the finer things in life. He loved ballroom dancing with his late wife, Mary Louise Harrison, and their graceful steps were a beautiful expression of their lifelong partnership of 66 years before her passing in 2019. Christmas was a special time for Robert, as it embodied his giving nature. He would spend months preparing, ensuring that the holiday was magical for everyone around him.
