Robert “Rob” Hashman, 59, of Ellet, passed away peacefully at home on July 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief but courageous battle with liver cancer.

He was born on October 23, 1965, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Don and Shirley Hashman. He worked as a devoted baker at Schwebel’s Bakery for 32 years.

Rob had an eclectic taste in music, enjoying everything from country to classic rock, and was a talented, self-taught guitar player. He also loved playing poker and visiting the casino, with MGM being his favorite spot. A lifelong and loyal fan, he proudly supported both the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns.

He had a passion for golf and spent many years playing in a league at Sunny Hills. A dedicated gamer, he connected with friends around the world through his love of video games-especially Resident Evil and Tiger Woods PGA Tour.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 40 years, Evelyn Hashman; his children, Joshua (Willow) Hashman, Kylie Hashman, and Robyn Hashman; his cherished grandchildren, Howard and Evelyn; his siblings, Dawn (William) Cooper, Lori (Howard) Baldwin, and Scott (Karen) Hashman; his beloved canine companion, Max; along with many dear nieces, nephews, and friends.

A celebration of Rob’s life will be held later this summer at his home. Please check back for updates on the date and time.
