Robert Edwin Held, age 89, of Panama City Beach, FL, passed away peacefully. Born on September 9, 1936, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was a proud Army veteran, having served from February 6, 1957, to May 31, 1963, achieving the rank of SP5 E5. Bob was a highly respected HVAC Journeyman and enjoyed a fulfilling career as a self-employed tradesman.
A dedicated family man, Bob cherished spending quality time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved spouse, Deanna Held, and his children: Robert Held, Glenn Held, Denise Held, and Rhonda Blosser. He also leaves behind his daughter-in-law, Barbara Held, along with his siblings, Barbara Mosco and Russell Held. Bob's legacy continues through his grandchildren, including Shannon Blackburn, Tara Schultz, Justin Held, Mathew Held, Tabitha Held, Quintin Held, Brandon Noll, Grace Demko, Autumn Held, and Madison Held.
Bob had a passion for gardening and lawn work, finding joy in nurturing his plants and crafting a beautiful outdoor space. As an avid sports fan, he passionately supported the Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins, and Steelers. He also never grew tired of his wife's delicious cooking, which brought warmth and comfort to their home. Bob served as an elder at Concordia Lutheran Church in Brentwood, PA, where he was a respected member of the community and shared his faith with others.
Bob will be fondly remembered for his kindness, dedication to family, and unwavering spirit. His impact on the lives he touched will remain a cherished memory for all who knew him.
Robert was preceded in death by: William Held, Ida Held, Ronald Held
Relatives and friends are welcome on Sunday from 2-8 PM at the Boron Funeral Home Inc. 1719 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15210. Funeral Prayers on Monday at 10:15 AM. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM in Concordia Lutheran Church. Interment in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
