WILLIAMSPORT - Robert W. “Bob” Helm, 89, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at the Gatehouse.
Bob was born on July 3, 1936 in Williamsport and was the son of the late Harold M. and Fay E. (Carn) Helm. He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1955 and then enlisted in the US Marine Corps. He had worked at A & P Tea Company and then K-Mart and retired after 25 years of employment. Bob was a life time member of the Gesang Harmonia Club and member of the American Legion, Post 1. After retiring, he enjoyed building, selling and restoring model ships. His favorite pastimes were Sudoku puzzles, playing cards and shuffle board at the Harmonia Club, winning the Championship in 2015.
Bob is survived by granddaughter; Amandah A. Andrus (Glen) of Jersey Shore and their children; Sarah, Glen III and Makaylah Andrus. He is also survived by one step-daughter; Tiffany N. Budman (James) of Elimsport and their six children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter; Susan M. Davis, one infant son; Jeffery R. Helm and one grandson; Dwayne L. Davis, Jr.
A special thanks to Larry and Lindi Haefner for the caregiving for many years.
There will be a public viewing 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at the Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home, 500 W. 4th St., Williamsport where the funeral will begin at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park with Military Honors provided by the Lycoming Korean War Vets.
