Robert Lewis Helmick

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Father, Robert (Buck) Lewis Helmick, 86, of Dawson, WV who passed away Friday, February 7, 2025 at home.
Born July 9, 1938, he was the son of the late Clarence and Ruby Helmick of Dawson, WV. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Jane Helmick, brother, Roy Helmick, sister, Vera Midkiff, sister, Helen Smith and brother, Vernon Helmick.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Helmick Callison of Cornelius, NC and Margaret Helmick White (Gideon) of Welcome, NC. Two brothers, Wayne Helmick (Melissa) of Virginia and Keith Helmick (Pam) of Williamsburg, WV. Five grandchildren, Kyle Duggan of Frankfort, WV, Kelsy Smith of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Teresa Callison of Charlotte, NC, William Callison of Boone, NC and Joseph Callison of Cornelius, NC. Robert also had one great grandson, Liam Duggan and other nieces and nephews.
Robert was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He was a lifelong member of Meadow Grove Baptist Church, a friend and mentor. He enjoyed spending time with family and working in his garden. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2025 closed casket at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Rainelle, WV. Visitation will be 1:00 until time of service.
