Mr. Robert “Cody” Hemric, 51, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025. He was born February 10, 1974 to Stephen Gregg Hemric and Terri Burgess Hemric. He was preceded in death by his father, Gregg Hemric. Mr. Hemric graduated from East Wilkes High, class of 1992. He then attended Appalachian State University with an undergraduate in History and his Master’s degree in school administration. He was a teacher and school administrator with Yadkin County for 28 years. Cody loved farming, hunting, riding horses, and he was a huge North Carolina Tarheels basketball fan. He also enjoyed arrowhead hunting and he loved watching westerns with his sons and his brothers. Mr. Hemric was a member of Mtn. View Baptist Church. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 27 years, Kerri Shore Hemric; his sons, Robert Carson Hemric, Darius Colt Hemric; his brothers, Stephen LaRue Hemric, Gregg Jaret Hemric; nephews and nieces, Stephen Kaleb Hemric (Carrie), LaRue Logan Hemric, LaMar Lariat Hemric (Celyna), Savannah Sutton (Matt), Mason Shore, Justus Shore, Raelee Shore, Logan Shore, Emma Shore, Saaya Shore, Shiloh Shore, Leila Shore, Kalonn Shore, Solvi Shore; great-nieces and great-nephews, Weston Hemric, Mila Hemric, Kaison Hemric, Luci Sutton, Sam Sutton; mother-in-law and father-in-law Pam and Ben Shore; and brothers-in-law, Chad Shore (Cara), Travis Shore (Aya). The family will receive friends, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Monday, June 30, 2025 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family request in lieu of flowers please make donations to one of the five schools that Cody worked at, Jonesville Elementary, Starmount Middle, Starmount High, West Yadkin, or the Yadkin Success Academy’s Special Needs Fund or to Mtn. View Baptist Church Family Life Center Fund. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Hemric Family.
