Robert A. Henninger

1949 - 2025

Robert A. Henninger, 76, of Export, died on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Feb. 28, 1949, in Greensburg, to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Lawton) Henninger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary C. Waughman and Nancy J. Frye. Robert retired after 23 years as a coal miner from the Helen Mine in Homer City. Robert was also a long-term insurance agent for Blue Cross Blue Shield and also worked as a long-haul truck driver for 19 years out of Irwin. He was an Army veteran, where he was a specialist fourth class in armor, training active E5s in Ft. Bragg, NC. For the next 13 months he toured in Augsburg, Germany, where he drove for the colonel, captain, and first sergeant, as well as being in charge of the armor. He was a graduate of Greensburg Salem High School class of 1968. Robert loved being a part of his children's sporting activities. He coached Franklin Regional Midget football as well as coaching baseball from little league to pony league for Delmont. Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Rose (Wilson) Henninger; children, Robert (Shannon) A. Henninger Jr., Heather (Matthew) A. Mann, Stephen (Stefanie) W. Henninger, and Megan L. Henninger; sister, Dianna (Robert "Rocco") L. Marusko; grandchildren, Hunter, Mason, Chase, and Wyatt Henninger, and Austin and Addison Mann; his two "beloved bonus children," Gretchen and Eric Heinel; and his loving fur babies, Honey and Bentley. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025, and from noon to 12:45 p.m., Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, at BASH-NIED-JOBE FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, (724-468-8381).
