Robert Heppermann Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Robert Joseph "Bobby Joe" Heppermann passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 18, 2025 at the age of 76. Bobby was born on September 11, 1949 to the late Melvin and Mary Ann "Tootie" Heppermann (nee: Sommer).

Bobby was known around Wentzville as the Can Man. He would ride his bike around town collecting empty cans. Once home, he would remove the tabs to donate to the Ronald McDonald House and then donate the cans to St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry and later on, The Boy Scouts. In between collecting cans, you could find Bobby at Pete's Drive-In enjoying a glass of iced tea and a piece of chocolate pie.

Bobby is survived by his cousins, Gerald C. Matlock and Neal (Donna) Matlock; cousins he always referred to as his nieces, Tammy Matlock and Tonya Weicht (nee: Matlock) along with her little dog Charlie; and many other cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Wentzville Historical Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org).

The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home in Wentzville.
