On February 3, 2026, Robert (Bob) Leroy Hinz, joined his parents in heaven.
Bob was born on December 20, 1936, in St Paul, Minnesota to Veronica Agnes Hinz. He and his twin brother later moved to Wisconsin to live with the Hippauf Family to help work on their farm. After high school, Bob joined the Army in 1956 and trained to be a helicopter mechanic. On his first assignment to Germany, he met and courted his loving soon to be wife, Erika Krause. They were married on September 5, 1958, in Germany, and together they started their adventure in the military, moving from one assignment to another. While in the military, Bob was stationed in Viet Nam and Korea. In 1977, Bob retired from the Army at Fort Hood, making Belton their forever home, where they were longtime members of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Temple TX . Bob started a second career, driving semi-trucks with McLane Co and later becoming an independent trucker for Bilbo Transport Inc. After several years of trucking, he retired from his 2nd career. They always loved traveling in their 5th -wheel, camping everywhere, visiting all the friends they made along their journey.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Erika Hinz, their sweet daughter Edda Hinz of WI, his siblings, Richard Hippauf, Mary Lou Frederick, Joanne Williams, Karen Peterson, and Arthur P. Hippauf.
