IN LOVING MEMORY

Bob Hodges

July 19, 1947 – July 14, 2025

Bob Hodges grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Delmar and Jean Hodges, and brother to his sister Cheryl.

Bob's lifelong, deep love of music began early. After attending Washington High School, Bob earned his bachelor's degree in Music from Kansas State College of Pittsburg. In time, he became an accomplished saxophone player and especially loved classic rock and jazz, particularly the Rolling Stones and Chuck Mangione.

Bob parlayed his love for music into a 20-year career as a regional manager for Target, working in the music, movie and books divisions of the company. This placement within the Target corporation came with an exciting bonus – music and more music. Bob was able to attend the Grammy Awards and the Country Music Awards, as well as attending multiple concerts, even being allowed backstage. This great bonus resulted in Bob's meeting Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Whitney Houston, Reba McIntyre, Toby Keith, Alan Jackson, Clint Black, Cher, Brittany Spears, and John Cougar Mellencamp.

Bob had a decade-long second career, also as a substitute physical education teacher, and refereed soccer for his son Ryan's club team.

Bob loved steak, potatoes, Cherry Pepsi, and Bud Light. As an all-round sports fan, he counted the Chiefs and Angels among his favorites.

Bob is survived by his wife, Denise; sons Edwin, Ryan, and Aaron; and four grandchildren – Nash, Noah, Mia, and Mila; as well as his sister, Cheryl.
