Robert Hoffmeyer Obituary
Robert Hoffmeyer Jr. age 77 of Grand Lake passed away at MyMichigan Health Center in Alpena on January 8, 2025.
He was born in Detroit to Robert and Geraldine (Mohler) Hoffmeyer on February 24, 1947.
Bob graduated from Roseville High School in 1966. He served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1969 as an E5. On August 14, 1987, he married Anne Brackett in Clinton Township. Bob retired from Chrysler Corporation in 2008 then he and Anne moved to their home on Grand Lake. He enjoyed all sporting events, fishing, barbequing and gatherings at the lake with lots of food and music. Bob was very active with assisting other veterans with their benefits.
He is survived by his wife, Anne; children, Gretchen (Stacy) Hodges of Apison, Tennessee, Russell (Holly) Hoffmeyer of Beckley, West Virginia; three grandchildren, Dylan, Dawson and Ashlyn; a sister, Grace Furno of Fraser; many stepbrothers and sisters; a nephew, David (Jennifer) Furno; and a niece, Crystal (Stephen) Fletcher.
Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Friday, January 24th from 12-Noon through time of his memorial service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Scott Distler officiating. Rogers City VFW Post 607 will offer a military tribute immediately following.
Inurnment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Grand Lake Sportsman's Club, Vietnam Veterans – Alpena Chapter 583, or Huron Humane Society in memory of Robert Hoffmeyer.
