Ruth Joan Hoffmeyer

On Thursday, May 22, 2025, Ruth J. Hoffmeyer-beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother-passed away peacefully at the age of 90.
Ruth was born on June 16, 1934, in Huntington Park, California, to John and Ruth Cheshire. She grew up alongside her brother John and sisters Florence and Jerrine. The family later moved to Quartz Hill, where Ruth attended both elementary and high school.
In 1952, Ruth married her first husband and had two sons, Robert and Ronald. In 1958, she met the love of her life, Wayne Hoffmeyer. They were married on July 12, 1958, and shared 61 devoted years together until Wayne's passing. Together they had three children: Kathryn, David, and Dennis.
During their marriage, Ruth dedicated herself to her family as a homemaker. She volunteered in the school library where her children attended and later worked as a school secretary for the Palmdale School District, a role she held until her retirement shortly after Wayne's in 1994.
Ruth was also an active member of her community. She gave 13 years of service to the Palmdale Little League and Pony League while her sons were growing up.
She is survived by four of her children: Robert Bigham, Kathryn, David (and his wife Angie), and Dennis (and his wife Patti). Ruth is also lovingly remembered by her eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
