Thomas David Sanchez, 65, of Lancaster, California, passed away on May 17, 2025. Born April 29, 1960, in Long Beach, Ca. Tom was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose warmth, intelligence, humor, spirit of adventure and a deep loyalty to his family-especially his siblings, whom he loved unconditional.

A proud graduate of Quartz Hill High School, Tom excelled both academically and athletically. A straight-A student and gifted wrestler, he earned numerous titles and caught the attention of college recruiters before a senior-year injury ended his promising wrestling career. Undeterred, Tom forged ahead with a life full of adventure, hard work, and laughter.

Early on, Tom and his brother made ends meet however they could-from working on a traveling circus to helping frame an apartment complex that still stands today. They often said, "Fake it till you make it," and that spirit carried Tom through a colorful and impactful life. He enjoyed repairing cars, racing in demolition derbies, he was infamous for having a confederate flag painted on the roof of his cars. Building unforgettable memories with friends and family. Whether he was bringing home doughnuts for his grandmother or helping someone in need, Tom's generous heart defined him.

Tom was known for his big personality, his love of a good party-complete with two battle-of-the-band stages-and his mischievous sense of humor, like the time he hid under his father's bed and grabbed his leg just for a laugh. He never stopped finding ways to make people smile. He was a natural storyteller and a true jokester, always quick with a joke or a clever comeback that brought laughter to those around him. Beyond his humor, he also enjoyed quiet moments, especially working on wooden puzzles, a favorite pastime that reflected his patience and thoughtful nature. Tom was known for being incredibly caring and kindhearted. He made everyone feel welcome, important, and loved.

Tom worked for many years as an aircraft mechanic, a role he took great pride in. Known for his hands-on expertise and problem-solving skills, he was deeply respected in the aerospace industry. He loved tinkering with airplanes, computers and that same passion extended to cars-he could often be found under the hood, fixing, restoring, or just exploring how things worked. He had a true mechanic's heart and a mind always in motion.

Above all, Tom was most proud of his role as a grandfather to his six grandchildren who were the light of his life. He celebrated their milestones, supported their dreams, and cherished every moment spent with them. His love for them was unconditional and unwavering.

He is survived by his children, Sandra (Henry), Lewis, Sarah (Ryan), and Selena (Vance); his cherished grandchildren Natalie, Liliana, Ariana, Tristan, Isabella, and Vance; his siblings, John, Sue, George, and Estivan; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Tamiko Sanchez.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 6, at 2 p.m. at Gino's Ristorante & Banquet Hall, 44960 Valley Central Way, Lancaster.

All who knew and loved Tom are welcome to attend and share in the joy of his memory. Tom lived a life full of grit, laughter, and love. He was a man of many stories, many talents, and a heart that gave more than it took. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
