July 27, 1967 - January 27, 2026
Quartz Hill - Steven Christopher Vose, 58, of
Quartz Hill, California, passed away on January 27, 2026. Steven was born on July 27, 1967, to James and Deborah Vose.
After graduating from Paraclete High School in 1985, Steve began a long and dedicated career with the Antelope Valley Union High School District, where he served for more than 35 years. Much of his career was spent running facilities at Palmdale High School, where his intelligence, hands-on skills, and strong work ethic were deeply valued.
Steve will be remembered by his family and friends as fiercely loyal, deeply passionate, and devoted to those he loved. An avid sports fan, he proudly supported the Palmdale High School Falcons-especially the football program, its coaches, and the many talented student-athletes.
Steve is survived by his beloved daughter, Elizabeth Vose of Northridge, California; his father, James (Pamela) Vose of Lancaster, California; his mother, Deborah Vose of Sacramento, California; and his brothers, David (Heidi) Vose of Spokane, Washington, and Shawn (Laurie) Vose of Sacramento, California.
He also leaves behind his niece, Katlyn (Jonathan) Luconi, and their son, Eli Luconi, as well as his nephews Jacob Vose, Dylan Vose, and Staff Sergeant Connor Vose.
Steve was deeply sentimental about his family and surrounded himself with photos of them throughout his home and office. He enjoyed traveling to Spokane or Las Vegas to attend Gonzaga Bulldogs games with family. A lover of music, Steve attended many live shows over the years-beginning with a memorable, clandestine trip to the US Festival in 1983.
Steve was preceded in death by two of his closest friends, Joseph Carnes and Robert Calandri. Their loss had a profound impact on him and shaped his views on life and mortality. Steve would have run through a wall for them, just as they would have for him.
In recent years, Steve worked across multiple schools and came to cherish those communities as much as his time at Palmdale High School. Being part of each school family was something he never took for granted. Sadly, Steve was unable to enjoy the retirement he had hoped for in 2026.
Above all else, Steve was most proud of his daughter, Elizabeth, and the woman she has become.
Steve was also a fan of Emeril Lagasse and loved cooking just as much as he loved eating.
To our father, son, brother, and uncle-you will be deeply missed, along with the uniqueness that made you undeniably Big Steve.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
