Robert Jon Hoffner, Jr., 59, passed away after a long battle with cancer, at his daughter's home in North Wales, holding the hands of his two children, on Friday, January 27, 2023.
Rob was born in
Abington, PA, to Robert Jon Hoffner, Sr., and Marjorie (Edgerton) Hoffner. He grew up and resided in Kintnersville for most of his life. After Rob graduated from Palisades High school in 1981, he went on to study at West Chester University. His career path ultimately led him to become a Manager with Austin-Briggs Benjamin Moore where he dedicated 25 years of his life and was greatly valued. Many will also remember him from his many years as a bouncer at the NBI.
Rob described his children as the "joys of his life" and was an incredible father. He felt being their Dad was his purpose and never missed a moment to be in support of them. Wherever he was, he had a story to tell about Aarika or Trey. He especially enjoyed watching their sports games. Rob loved football and baseball, and would never miss an Eagles or Phillies game (GO EAGLES!!). He loved working outdoors, gardening and using his many talents for various home projects. Other hobbies of his included live music, long drives in his Mustang, the shooting range, trivia, crossword puzzles, fishing, hiking, exploring historical monuments, ancestry, cuddling with and taking his grand-pup Jax on walks, and playing with his young nieces and nephews. Rob deeply loved his friends and family, and would give the shirt off his back to anyone of them. There was nothing more important to him. He was remarkably intelligent and was referred to by many as their "human Google". This intelligence even led him to be a participant on the popular and hit television show, "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" in 2000. Rob had a keen sense of direction, one of the best memories and always had an entertaining and informative story to share. He was meticulous and did everything to perfection - including sand castles and the baking of his famous cheesecakes and Mac n Cheese. Rob truly brought joy, wit and laughter to every person who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his children, Aarika Ashley Hoffner and Robert Jon Hoffner III (Trey); parents, Robert Jon Hoffner Sr. and Marjorie (Edgerton) Hoffner; his siblings, Tammy Labant, Brenda Rider, and George Hoffner; the mother of his children, Nancy Hoffner-Scott; his two very special friends, Tracy Bean and Brian Gavin; as well as beloved uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other dear friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 2:00-3:00 pm at the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale, with a memorial service to begin at 3:00.
