Robert “Bob” Yeager Holladay, 73, of Sherwood, was born on June 6, 1951. He went to be with the Lord on August 4, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen, and his father, Jack Holladay.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathleen Terry Izatt - Holladay and loving daughters, Rachel and Karrie Holladay; grandchildren Ethan, Ryleigh, Greta, Madelin, Edyn, Brody, and Olive; brothers Joe (Peggy) Holladay and Jack (Sharon) Holladay; nieces and nephew Kimberly White, Jennifer Holladay, Taylor Holladay, and Courtney Holladay; and a great niece Marley Jo.
From a young age, Bob wanted to be a police officer. He pursued that dream by joining the Little Rock Police Department and later the Benton Poilce Department, where he was promoted to the rank of Leuitenant. He was also the leader of the SWAT team. Bob was fierce and brave. He was passionate about protecting people, and especially his family.
Bob was a graduate from Sylvan Hills High School in 1969. He attended Arkansas Technical University and graduated with a Criminal Justice degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Bob was a Corvette enthusiast. He had many hobbies which included photography, hunting, football, and he was big fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks. He enjoyed water skiing, cliff diving, and basically anything that made your heart beat faster.
Starting out as sweethearts, Bob and Kathy were married for 50 wonderful years. They recently moved to the country to spend their golden years enjoying the outdoors. In the morning, their favorite thing to do was sit on the front porch and have a cup of coffee together.
Bob was a very devoted father who always put his family first.
He went above and beyond for his grandchildren and they rarely heard the word “no”. He received great joy from all of their smiles.
He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Jacksonville Animal Shelter in Bob's memory.
Visitation will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Smith Sherwood Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM.
