Robert E. "Bob" Holland, Jr. of Whitman, formerly of Plymouth, MA passed away December 20th at Massachusetts General Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Joan (Goodwin) Holland.
Born in Cohasset, MA in 1948, he was the first-born son of the late Robert E. Holland, Sr., and the late Claire (Burns) Holland. Bob was a Journeyman Electrician and worked throughout the South Shore before ending his career as the head electrician at Otis Airforce Base.
Throughout his life Bob enjoyed music and riding his Harley. He also enjoyed family time in Vermont where he developed a fondness for the mountains. During his retirement years Bob was a HAM Radio Operator, and his handle was DUTCH. Bob enjoyed exchanging messages with other operators from all over the world.
In addition to his wife of 49 years, Joan, he is survived by his 3 children, Edward Holland and his wife Allyson of Bridgewater, Michael Holland of Wareham and Jennifer Luongo and her husband Matthew of Bridgewater; 6 grandchildren, Abigail Holland, Tyler Holland, Jackson Luongo, Benjamin Holland, Samantha Luongo and Patrick Holland; his brother Steven Holland of Boston and his sister Deanne (Holland) Summers of Orlando, FL; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Sandra (Holland) Bonin.
In honoring their loved one's wishes, the family will not hold a public service or gathering.
