Robert David Holley
U.S. Army Veteran
Loving Son, Devoted Friend, Proud American
Robert David Holley, 54, of
Point Pleasant, West Virginia – and formerly of Corpus Christi, Texas – passed away peacefully in the early hours of October 26, 2025, with his beloved mother, Rikki Holley, by his side at Abbyshire Place in Bidwell, Ohio.
Born on January 15, 1971, and raised in Point Pleasant, Robert was a proud graduate of Point Pleasant Senior High School, Class of 1989. Shortly after, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army. Robert served with honor and distinction for 12 years, rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant before being honorably discharged. His time in the Army reflected the strength, leadership, and quiet bravery that defined his life.
Following his military service, Robert built a fulfilling civilian career as a Freight Manager for FedEx in Corpus Christi. He took pride in his work and the responsibility it carried, earning the respect and admiration of his team.
Robert found joy in life's simple pleasures – walking the beaches in Texas, playing rounds of golf on sunlit courses, and spending time with close friends. The ocean always called to him, and the warmth of the Gulf brought him peace. He cherished deep friendships, laughed often, and always found time to offer kindness or lend a hand.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Ron Lathey, of
Point Pleasant, WV, and by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Elaine Holley, who were a guiding presence throughout his life.
He is survived by his loving mother, Rikki Holley, whose care, and devotion remained steadfast until his final breath. Also surviving is his daughter, Jade Holley. He also leaves behind his dear Aunt and Uncle, Nikki and Tom Crothers of Florida; and a circle of friends who became chosen family: Sean Hughes of Florida, Rich and Allisa Reymond of Texas, Lance Ashworth and Willy Ramos of Illinois, and Bonus Parents John and Nancy Withers of Athens, Ohio.
Robert's life touched many, and though his time with us has come to an end, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His journey was not without struggle, but he met each chapter with courage. May he now rest in peace – free, at ease, and finally at home in the loving grace of God.
