Robert H. Howdeshell, 92, of Wentzville, MO passed away September 11, 2024 at Troy Manor in Troy, MO.
Robert Howdeshell, sixth child and fourth son, of William "Floyd" Howdeshell and Freda Leigh (Brinkman) Howdeshell, was born at the Howdeshell farm northwest of Hawk Point on August 23, 1932. Robert attended grade school for 8 years in Hawk Point, MO and then attended Troy Buchanan High School, graduating after 4 years in 1950.
After graduating high school, he went to work at Fred Mears Heel Company in Troy, MO and was employed there for 12 years. In 1952 he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He was a member of the 601st Ordnance Battalion and was honorably discharged in 1954 as a Corporal.
In March of 1962 he was married to Dolores Schuleter, they had one son Dale. He and Dolores were married 52 years prior to her passing on August 30, 2014. After marrying Dolores, he went on to work for Labor Local 660 St. Charles where he earned a 60 year plus membership card. He was also a member of American Legion Post #323 in Wentzville, MO for many years.
Surviving are his five children; Dale R. Howdeshell, Brenda K. Emert, Wayne (Pam) Shafer, Elaine M. Howdeshell, Douglas C. Pollard; daughter-in-law, Kim Pollard; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his son, Michael L. Pollard; his brothers, John Howdeshell, Sr. and his wife, Ruby, William Howdeshell and his wife, Alberta, and Lavern Howdeshell; his sisters, Willena Brach and her husband, Herbert and Floy Allen and her husband, Bill; son-in-law, Jerry Emert; and nephew, Johnnie Lee Howdeshell.
