Robert Thomas "Tom" Hudson, born March 4, 1952 was received into the arms of Jesus, on December 3, 2025 at the age of 73.
He was the son of the late George Wesley and Catherine Rhodes Hudson. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Wesley Hudson.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Jan Pearson Hudson, his son John Hudson and his wife Kim, his daughter Rebecca Hudson & his brother Phillip Hudson.
He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren, Aria Taylor, Brinley, Camden and Emmy Hudson. He was also blessed with one great grandchild, Stetson Taylor.
Tom lived a life defined by love for his family, strength of character, and devotion to those around him.
Tom was a faithful member of West View Church, where he found strength in his faith and fellowship with his church family. His devotion to God and his community was evident in the way he lived his life and cared for others.
He was a strong man and a fighter until the very end. When doctors gave him six months, Tom gave them six years - a testament to his courage, determination, and unwavering will to live for those he loved.
He retired as an Engineering Associate with the South Carolina Department of Transportation and was the owner of A1 Home Inspection Services.
Above all, Tom was a wonderful Papa who told the best stories and loved to share plain potato chips, while watching a good western. He also loved a long slow drive through the country and a quiet afternoon on a river bank or lakeshore. His family will forever cherish those simple, joyful moments that reflected his warmth and love.
He will be remembered for his resilience, his gentle spirit, and the values he instilled in his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchild, and all who knew him.
A service celebrating Tom's life will be held on Saturday, December 06, 2025 at 1PM at West View Church, 1975 Old Reidville Road Spartanburg SC 29306 with Rev. Richard Peters officiating. The family will receive friends from 12PM until 1PM prior to the service. Interment will be held at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
