Robert Michael Hujar, affectionately known as Bob, passed away peacefully at his home in Bath, New York, on March 28, 2026. Born on June 27, 1943, in Johnson City, NY, Bob led a life marked by dedication, passion, and the warmth of close family and community.

Bob retired as a Mechanical Engineer from Corning Inc., where his technical skill and commitment left a lasting impact. Beyond his professional achievements, he was a proud member and past board member of the Bath Country Club, reflecting his deep connection to his local community.

A man of many interests, Bob found joy in riding his Harley Davidson, playing golf, and indulging his love for fly fishing and fishing—hobbies that brought him relaxation and happiness throughout his life. His faith was also an important part of his journey; he was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bath.

He is lovingly remembered by his life partner, Laura Ask, and her sons, Ryan and Kevin Ask; his son Michael Hujar; his goddaughter Jill Schoonejongen; and his brothers John Hujar and Joe (Monica) Hujar. He is also survived by his sisters Ann Marie (Joe) Tiderencel, Rita Broadhurst, and Kate Hujar, as well as many nieces and nephews who cherished his presence.

Bob’s life was also marked by the memory of those who preceded him in death: his first wife, Judy Hujar; his brother Richard and his wife Ann; and his sisters-in-law Joyce Hujar and Chris Reimer, as well as his brother-in-law John Broadhurst.

To all who knew him, Robert Michael Hujar will be remembered as a man of quiet strength, enduring kindness, and a true passion for both his family and pursuits. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched

Family and friends are invited to the First Presbyterian Church of Bath on Saturday, April 11. 2026 from 10:00-11:00 am for the visitation, with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 am and a reception immediately after in the fellowship hall.
