Robert J Hulton passed away at home on October 20, 2025. He was the youngest son of
George and Shirley Hulton. Robert graduated from Stratford High School in 1993 and entered
the workforce, working for Park City Packaging in Stratford for the past 32 years.
Rob was well known for his sense of humor and his many nicknames. Most people close to him
called him Hap because he was always happy. During his high school years Big Spender was
commonly used but many simply called him Hulton. He enjoyed playing poker with friends and
would be yelling Lower Chuck or Higher Chuck to the dealer throughout every game. Rob loved
watching sports and was a devoted Yankees and Cowboys fan. He enjoyed going to concerts
and often kept the ticket stubs as a keepsake.
Rob was predeceased by his parents George T Hulton II and Shirley A Hulton (Bantle),
grandparents, George T Hulton Sr., Lillian Bulger, Frederick and Rita Bantle and his uncle
William Bantle. He is survived by his brothers George T Hulton III (Sheila) and Douglas F Hulton
(Kim), his nieces and nephew- Christa, Janie, Darren and Makayla, aunts and uncles- Laurie
and Paul Carlson, Diane Hulton, Cindy and Micheal Hulton, Rick Bantle (Berta) and Karen
Bantle, and cousins especially Billy Bantle whom he was extremely close with. He had a special
relationship with longtime friends Nichol and Pablo Pomales and their two daughters, Mia and
Penny, along with his beloved dog Mugsy who was Rob's best buddy.
Friends and family who knew him will deeply miss his happy disposition, which brought joy to
everyone around him. A Celebration of Life will take place on November 15, 2025 at the Sterling
Community Center Auditorium, 2283 Main Street, Stratford from 2pm-5pm. There is parking at
the Sterling House, on Main St. and next door at the Baldwin House.
