Obituary
Robert Earl Humphries, 82, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born July 1, 1940 in Chesnee, SC, he was the son of the late Herbert B. and Lillian Lucille Wilson Humphries.
A Class of 1961 graduate of Chesnee High School, Robert was the owner/operator of Southern Pest Control. He was a member of Carolina Baptist Church and was a member of St. John's Masonic Lodge #333 for 50 years. He loved to fish and care for his yard, especially cutting the grass.
Survivors include his daughter, Hailey Thomason of Boiling Springs, SC; son, Patrick Humphries of Boiling Springs, SC; four grandchildren, Tylar Thomason, Jarad Thomason, Meryl-anne Humphries, and Bryson Humphries; and two sisters, Judy Gowan (Kenneth) of Chesnee, SC and Cathy Bullman (Wade) of Fingerville, SC. He was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn O. Varner Humphries; a sister, Bobbie Evans; and his beloved canine companion, Baby.
Visitation will be 1:00 – 2:30 pm on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Highway 9 North, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. A Graveside service, with Masonic Rites, will follow at 3:30 pm on Friday, December 9, 2022 in Buck Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 506 Buck Creek Road, Chesnee, SC 29323, conducted by The Rev. Andy Case.
