The services celebrating and honoring the life of Robert T. Hunter, 78, of Waukomis will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday July 18, 2025 in the Brown Cummings Chapel with Pastor David Jones officiating. A family visitation will be held 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Thursday July 17, 2025 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services in the Waukomis Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A Life Celebration Home.
Robert was born June 4, 1947 to James C. and Phyllis M. Brinker Hunter in Enid, Oklahoma and passed from this life on July 5, 2025 in Enid, Oklahoma.
He was raised and educated in Waukomis graduating from Pioneer High School with the class of 1965. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1967 and was honorably discharged after three years of service to his country in 1970. Upon returning to civilian life, he worked for Bud's Engine Repair Shop before beginning his own welding business, Bob's Welding Service. He married Ann Brueggemann April 15, 1977, and from this union came two daughters, Laura and Debbie. During his life, he also worked as a custom harvester, auctioneer, and a real estate appraiser. For the last 15 years or so, he has had a successful business repairing electric fence solar batteries in a shop built with his very own hands.
He enjoyed playing dominoes, watching John Wayne movies, target shooting and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by two daughters, Laura Finley and Debbie Hunter Wilczek; four grandchildren, Jackson, Alex, Addison, and Joe; and three siblings, Susan Powell, Mike Hunter, and Michelle Beckner.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Phyllis Hunter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to Warriors for Freedom or Toys for Tots with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
