Robert William "Bob" Hurtle

Robert "Bob" William Hurtle, age 78, of Pelzer, SC, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Richard Campbell Veterans Home.
Born October 3, 1946, in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Henry Charles Hurtle and Anne Dyer Hurtle. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Henry Hurtle.
Mr. Hurtle served his country in the U.S. Army Special Forces. He loved traveling and was an American History buff. Bob enjoyed golfing and sailing and was a great dancer. He was stoic and self-sacrificing by nature, with great love for his family and a tender heart towards animals.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Hurtle of Pelzer, SC; a son, William Hurtle (Alisa) of Centerville, OH; a daughter Kathryn Hurtle (Tessa LeFevre) of Odenton, MD; a brother Steven Hurtle (Brenda) of Pace, FL; a sister, Margaret Bunting (John) of Jacksonville, FL; and four grandchildren, Alexis Hurtle, Tyler Hurtle, Parker LeFevre-Hurtle and Jaxson LeFevre-Hurtle.
A service will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 2:00 pm at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
