Robert Franklin Ivy

 

Services for Robert Franklin Ivy will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at Rolling Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Richard Coats officiating. Interment will follow at Ivy Family Cemetery with Bro. Chris Dew officiating. Webb & Stephens Funeral Home-Downtown is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mr. Ivy, 78, of Meridian, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at his residence.

Robert was a lifelong member of Rolling Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He loved spending time at the church and with his church family. He was a hard-working man, spending most of his time after retiring working outdoors. He loved his family greatly and will be remembered as a devoted husband, and loving father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Clarise Ivy; children, Tim Ivy (April), Tammie Ivy, and Tonya Ireland (Tim); adopted in love children, Terry Arnsdorff (Brenda) and Dockery Cates; grandchildren, Tabby Williams (Sam), Trisha Reed, Jared Ivy (Olivia), Garrett Ivy, Amanda Dahr (Justin), Jeffrey Ireland (Alexis), and Sarah Arnsdorff; great grandchildren, Rylan Fox, Victoria Fox, Ayden Reed, Aniya Reed, Owen Williams, and Stella Ann Ivy; sisters, Glennie Caraway (Donald) and Colleen Smith (John); and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Colen and Vivian Ivy.

Pallbearers will include Jared Ivy, Garrett Ivy, Sam Williams, Tommy Scott, John Gary Riley, Terry Arnsdorff, Dockery Cates, and Don Moore. Honorary pallbearers will include Ayden Reed and Owen Williams.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital.

Visitation will be held two hours prior to service at the church.
