Robert Ivy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Crowell Brothers Funeral Homes & Crematory - Peachtree Corners Chapel on Dec. 15, 2025.
Robert Newton Ivy, age 84, of Dawsonville, Georgia, formerly of Norcross, GA, peacefully departed this life on Saturday, December 13, 2025. He was born on January 7, 1941, in Norcross, Georgia, to the late Gaines and Louise Ivy. Robert grew up in Norcross, where he later built both his career and his family.
Robert married, Brenda Ramey Ivy, and together they shared 59 years of devotion and partnership. They raised two daughters, Carey Ivy Morgan and Anna Ivy, who were the pride of his life. His family grew to include his beloved son-in-law, Brian Morgan; cherished grandchildren, Ramey Morgan Hensley and husband Austin, and Rachel Morgan, and his great-grandson, Luke Hensley; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends, all of whom brought him immense joy.
In addition to his parents Gaines and Louise, Robert was preceded in death by his brother Kelley Ivy and his sister Margaret Ivy Greer.
A lifelong worker and community supporter, Robert was part owner of Greer Ivy Hardware in downtown Norcross for many years. His dedication to serving others carried into his later work at Howard Brothers Hardware, where he was known for his friendly nature, steady presence, and eagerness to help anyone who walked through the door.
Faith and fellowship were important parts of Robert's life. He was a dedicated member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, where he loved singing and participating in church life. He was also a proud member of Masonic Lodge No. 228 in Norcross, where he formed lasting friendships and found camaraderie.
Family and friends will gather to honor Robert's life on Friday, December 19, 2025 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm and on Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm in the Peachtree Corners Chapel of Crowell Brothers Funeral Homes & Crematory. Graveside services will follow at Peachtree Memorial Park.

I am so saddened to learn of Robert's passing. I made many visits to the hardware store to get a Coke out of the machine then have some laughs with him and Brenda. Good times for sure. Deepest condolences to Brenda, Carey and Anna. The entire family will be forever in my memory. Love and prayers...

To Brenda and family,
It was an honor to know Robert for twenty plus years. We enjoyed our mountain gatherings through the years. Meetings on the road coming in, Robert always had a smile on his face , a wave of he was busy in the yard, and always took time for a quick road side visit. Ben and I will cherish those memories always. With our deepest sympathies to you all.
