Robert Johnson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Palmer Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes- Holt Delhi Chapel on Dec. 17, 2025.
Robert T. Johnson passed peacefully with his wife by his side on December 15th, 2025 at the young age of 93 years. His parents, Walter and Beulah Johnson, didn't know then of the amazing man that they would bring into the world on September 10th, 1932. Bob was born in Hanover, Michigan, and was one of nine children.
As we look back at Bob, anyone that knows him knows that his work ethics raised the bar, and that he got the job done regardless of the amount of blood, sweat and tears needed to accomplish the end goal. This was displayed during his 45 years as a pipefitter for Fisher Body. Bob always spoke so highly of his co-workers as brothers and thoroughly enjoyed the times that they could catch up over breakfast. Please know that while you were co-workers on paper, you were family in his heart.
Bob was an avid motorcycle rider most of his life, and the smile that spread across his face every time his Harley fired up was something that anyone that ever saw it won't forget. It always made Christmas easy as if you got him anything Harley related, then you knew he would love it. The miles that he spent riding with his friends meant so much to him. Annual events such as Daytona Bike Week, and the guys trip up north were something that Bob always looked forward to. To his fellow riders, please know that when you feel that warm sun on your face, the nice breeze as you pull over for a break, or when the deer that pops out of the woods turns and goes the other way, that is Bob letting you know that he is still with you.
Regardless of how you knew Bob, it is easy to think of a memory that you have with him that just causes you to smile and shake your head. It could be thinking of him working in the yard and watching him pick out the piece of crabgrass, or even the smallest weed, that yard was immaculate. Some think of how he LOVED Taco Tuesday with his VFW family but ordered a cheeseburger and not the tacos. Nobody can think of Bob and not think of him singing karaoke. In his mancave, in the shower, working in the yard, or standing in front of a crowd, he loved to sing. Many of us will miss this the most. He was a man of honor, and a man that a handshake still meant something to. He didn't cut any punches, and you knew where you stood. They don't make them like that anymore.
Surviving Bob, is his loving wife, Marie, his children Rich (Shawn) Johnson, Renee Wehrung, Debbie Sarrell, Travis (Alyson) Halsted, Bill Weaver, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved you all!
Preceding Bob are his parents, eight of his siblings, three of his children, Tonya Curry, Douglas Johnson, and Robin Weaver, and one grandchild, Gary Curry Junior.
Whether you called him Robert, Bob, Bad Ass Bobby J, papa, dad, grandpa, uncle, brother, or sweetheart, he was taken from us too soon. 93 years with Bob wasn't enough, but yet we must celebrate as Bob now gets to ride his Harley across the clouds and take his zero turn on the endless acres of heavenly mowing opportunities. From everyone that your presence has ever touched, we love you Bob and you are already dearly missed!
The service to celebrate Bob will be on Saturday, December 20, 2025, 4:00 PM at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Home, Holt Chapel, 5035 Holt Rd., Holt, MI 48842. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home, two hours prior to the service from 2- 4 PM.
