Mr. Robert Larry Jones, age 78, left this world on February 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in Jackson, TN. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home, with Pastor Rocky Gilliam officiating. Burial to follow at the Brownsville Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
Mr. Robert was born in Brighton, TN on January 22, 1947, to the late Eddie Jones Jr. and Virginia Maxwell Jones. Robert was a devoted husband to Sara Jones, whom he married in 2012. Robert spent his career as a truck driver and farmer before retiring in 2016. In his free time, he enjoyed working on lawnmowers and trucks, always happy to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors in need. His warm smile and kind-hearted spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace, Robert, your memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved you. He was also preceded in death by one grandson: Mark Webb.
He is survived by his wife of over 13 years: Sara Nell Johnson Jones of Brownsville, TN; two sons: Lee Jones (Patricia) of Brownsville, TN, Donny Brasher (Kim) of Navarre, FL; two daughters: Mary Cast (Scott) of Romance, AR, Crystal Bond (Jeff) of Brownsville, TN; one brother: Jerry Jones of Ripley, TN; two sisters: Carmel Lynn Smith of Mason, TN, Geraldine Coleman of Bartlett, TN; He leaves a legacy of 14 grandchildren, Jayda, Alexis, Dorothy, Rachel, Arron, Heather, Crystal, Tyler, Haley, Dre, Shelia, Alanis, Kali, and Earl; 9 great-grandchildren, Clayton, Annabeth, Anniesa, Walker, Beau, Sheyenne, Aerial, Austin, and Homer.
Serving as pallbearers are Donny Brasher, James Clark, Johnny Jackson, Jeffery Bond, Curtis Watson, Zach Moore, Desi Moore and Austin Hubbard. Honorary Pallbearers are Jonathon Johnson, Bobby Johnson and Timothy Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023 or the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
