Robert Jones Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Leavitt's Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park on Dec. 8, 2025.
Robert "Bobby" Dean Jones, Sr., 83, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 4, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on July 27, 1942, in Oakland, California, to Violet Creech and Robert Jones.
Bobby grew up with three younger siblings-Wanda, Cheryl, and Steve-and spent his early years making memories that his family still cherishes. His sister Cheryl fondly remembers him shooting fireworks at their home on Broadway in Leavenworth, Kansas, a snapshot of the playful spirit he carried throughout his life.
A graduate of Leavenworth High School, Bobby went on to meet and marry Cynthia Meyers. Together they built a family of five children: Teresa, Robert Jr., Aaron, Michael, and Matthew. After roughly fifteen years of marriage, Bobby and Cynthia mutually separated and later divorced, yet continued to stay connected through the family they built.
Later in life, Bobby found love again. He married Karen Hanson on September 4, 2007, and the two shared a loving marriage until Karen's passing on August 22, 2014.
During his later years, Bobby found joy in simple and meaningful routines-attending church, talking with friends and family, and helping his neighbors however he could. His kindness, humor, and generosity were hallmarks of who he was.
Bobby is survived by his five children, his grandchildren-Ashley Loyd, Jared Dwire, Logan Dwire, Melissa Jones, Michelle Jones, Jamie Jones, Amber Jones, Michael Jones (son of Robert Jr.), and Robert Jones III (son of Robert Jr.)-and his great-grandchild, Damon Loyd.
He will be remembered dearly and missed profoundly by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 9, at 12:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4555 W. 4000 S., West Haven, Utah. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Leavitt's Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden.
