Robert Jones Jr.

Robert Jones Jr., affectionately known as Bob, was born on February 18, 1934. He was the fourth of thirteen children born to Robert and Nellie (Warren) Jones, both of whom preceded him in death. Robert peacefully departed this life on December 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Robert was united in holy matrimony to Rosie Lee (May) Jones on May 2, 1953, in Greensboro, Alabama. The couple moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1963 and shared 60 years of marriage until Rosie's passing on June 17, 2013.

Robert was blessed with ten children: Jonell Jones, Cincinnati, OH; Rosie Jones, Cincinnati, OH; Robert Jones (Madalyn), Nashville, TN; Mary Enenmoh (Henry), Dallas, TX; Howard Jones, Cincinnati, OH; Larry Jones (Maria), Cincinnati, OH; Alonzo Jones (Gloria), Cincinnati, OH; Roger Jones (Deadra), Cincinnati, OH; Tony Jones (April), Cincinnati, OH; and Eric Jones (DeNetrice), Cincinnati, OH. and twelve siblings: Ruby, Bessie, Janell, James, Captain, Sue, Viola, Frank, Idella, Adam, David, and Maggie. His legacy continues through 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Baseball was Robert's lifelong passion. In his younger years, he played the game, and throughout his life he loved listening to baseball on the radio, watching it on television, or attending games whenever he could, especially when he was able to share those moments with his sons.

Robert was a man of few words, known for his quiet, calm, and steady nature. As a young man, he was a devoted protector of his brothers and sisters, and that same spirit of care later extended to his beloved wife and children. He was deeply loved by his family and friends, and he will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel, 2625 Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.

He will be laid to rest at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45232.
