Robert Harrison Jones Jr.

Robert Harrison Jones, Jr., 80, of Waldorf, MD passed away at his residence on February 17, 2026.

Robert was born on April 11, 1945, in Washington, DC to Virginia (Guss) and Robert Harrison Jones, Sr. After graduation, Robert enlisted in to the United States Army. After completion of bootcamp, he immediately left for Vietnam. He was in the 1st Cavalry Airmobile Division in Vietnam. After completing his time in the Army, he began a career with the Rail Road.

Robert loved music, and was an avid record collector, specifically 45's. He was a disc jockey known as DJ Boogaloo Bob, and was on the on-line platform, Mogie Time Machine. He and his wife Justine enjoyed dancing at Rascals and Blue Dog. He was a proud and loving grandfather and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his loving wife of 44 years at the time of her passing, Justine Virginia (Cutshaw) Jones, daughter, Michelle Vinson, brother, Michael Jones, and sisters; Gail Jones, and Donna Jones.

He is survived by his son, Robert Jones, III and his wife Kristen, grandchildren; Brettany Schwartz and her husband Alan, Chelsy Vinson, Robert Jones, IV, Bradley Jones, Miranda Jones, and Justine Jones, great-grandchildren; Serenity, Brayden, Kenzie, Landon, and Averie, brother, Denny Guss, and life-long best friend, Boppin Bobby Hans.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 2:00 – 4:00 and from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Raymond Funeral Service, 5635 Washington Ave, La Plata, MD 20646. Funeral Service will be on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Raymond Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations in Roberts name be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka Kansas, 66678-8516.
